Thank G-d; mother and father have just given birth to a healthy Jewish baby daughter. It is a Jewish custom to celebrate and present the baby with her Jewish name.

The Jewish baby naming ceremony is generally performed in a Synagogue where the father is called up to the Torah and the newborn baby girl is presented with her Jewish name.

It is customary to serve food and drink at a Kiddush party celebrating the birth of a new Jewish baby daughter.
